The Good Housing = Good Health Program aims to utilize and promote existing housing resources to enhance housing stability and total health results across Michigan. Having a safe and safe place to live is essential for both physical and psychological health well-being. The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) in collaboration with Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) and regional health partners launched the Good Housing = Health Program on October 1, 2023. The program term is October 1, 2023, through September 30, 2024. Additional funding will be looked for to continue efforts.

Multi-sector Collaboration

As part of the overarching SDOH Strategy, multisector cooperation is crucial to supporting community-led efforts. By partnering with MSHDA, the MDHHS Policy and Planning Office has actually established the Good Housing = Good Health Program to increase and promote real estate stabilization resources and services across the state. Funding has been supplied to local health partners to hire and keep neighborhood health workers (likewise referred to as navigators) who will proactively seek opportunities to link Michigan citizens to real estate resources and services.
